YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
Day 1
Simplify Your Skin Routine
In the morning, wash your face with your hands . Your hands are naturally thorough, but gentle. Apply your daytime moisturizer to still-damp skin. Let the moisturizer go into your skin before applying makeup.
Repeat at night, but spend a minute longer washing your face in the night to be sure you remove all makeup, dirt, and residue from the day. Then, apply your nighttime moisturizer.

Wash your face moving your hand in circular motion and rinse thoroughly with water so as to remove soap residue and pat dry with clean towel.

DAY 2: Sleeping Beauty
You will need to decide how many hours of sleep you need to feel really refreshed. If the answer is 8, and you normally get up at 6 a.m., you should be in bed by 10 p.m. That means you need to call it a day by 9 p.m. to give yourself an hour to prepare for bed.
A well rested person is a healthy person. When you do not get enough sleep, your skin will look dehydrated, dull and you may start aging faster than you should. This is because skin cells turn over are faster in the night and it is at this time your body repairs the damages done to it during the day by the activities of free radicals triggered by the sun's damaging ultra violet ray, pollution and so on. Make it a habit to get enough sleep for a better skin.

Those who make not getting enough rest
at night a habit are at the risk of aging faster. Today, ensure you take enough
rest and make it a continuous habit. It will tell on your skin.

Day 3: EAT
THEM RAW
Now is the time to cultivate the habit of eating fruits and raw vegetables. Those vegetables you care less about will do more good for your skin than junk food.
Slice some cucumber and raw tomatoes by your plate of rice. Take some lettuce with your spagetti.
Fruits and vegetables contain anti oxidants that help to fight free radicals. Taking fruits and vegetables will help in regeneration or renewal of damaged skin cells. Do you desire a flawless skin? Now is the time to snack on fruits instead of junks. It pays in the long run. For everytime you take something nutritious, it tells on your skin.
TAKING BALANCED DIET REQUIRES A CONSCIOUS EFFORT

DAY 4:Get Moving for Better Skin
Do some exercise
today and make it a habit. You need to determine the time of the day suitable
or convenient for this and stick to it. Mornings are always better but it
doesn’t mean you can find your way to the gym if its convenient in the evening.
And if its so inconvenient to take a class in the gym, your sitting room is
there for you to work out. Go for a walk or a bike ride. Choose an exercise you
enjoy. You may consider swimming once in a week, taking a brisk walk. Exercise
helps to improve your skin health by increasing the circulation of blood to the
skin cells.
DAY 5 NAP IT
Taking a nap during the day could ease your stress, make you relax and feel less anxiety, all of which can affect your health and your skin. A stressed and often anxious person is liable to look older than her age. The bad habit of worrying can take a toll on your skin and make it age prematurely if you do not take time out to relax. Combat worrying by meditating on whatever is good, lovely, noble and of good report. It’s the most effective.
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
DAY 6 GULP IT DOWN
Today, make it a habit to drink lots of water. Water is essential when it comes to healthy living. lt also helps keep your skin cells hydrated, making it look smooth and healthy.
When you are hydrated, it tells on your skin. It is not ideal to wait until you are thirst before you drink water. Water helps to restore your skin health and its good for total well being.
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
DAY 7 CAST IT OUT
Worry/anxiety will take a toll on not only your health but will affect your skin as well. This is why a worrier is at risk of aging too fast. When you make it a habit to worry, cortisol is released in the adrenal gland in your body which in turn breaks down the collagen, a component of your skin that gives it its firm and supple nature.
To look good, you need to embrace life and be joyful.
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
DAY 8 RUB IT IN
Today, make it a habit to always moisturize. Every time you use soap, you should moisturize. This is because soaps contain substances that remove the natural oil from your skin in the bid to cleanse the skin. This natural oil helps keep moisture in your body. When the natural oil is removed, your skin is susceptible to loosing moisture.
You can keep the moisture in by using moisturizers that are oil based (emollients) eg shea butter(homemade/natural), mineral oil (manufactured)
You can add moisture to your skin by applying substances that will draw water from the atmosphere into your skin (humectants) eg. Honey (homemade/natural) glycerine (manufactured)
YOUR SKIN CARE
ROUTINE
Welcome to your
2nd week of skin care routine. We have one more week to go after this. The
purpose is so that you imbibe some habits that will benefit your skin in the
long run. The fact is that the state of your skin today is as a result of
certain habits either good or bad that you have consciously or otherwise picked
up over the years or months. eg, If you make it a habit not to drink enough
water, sleep well, eat well etc, all these will tell on your skin over time.
This is the reason we are changing our habits.
With much patience and consistency, you will start noticing great results on your skin.

YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
DAY 9: Peel them off
You will need to start exfoliating your skin. Dead skin cells are removed from the surface of the skin, to reveal younger, fresher, smooth looking skin when you exfoliate.
This habit will help change the appearance of your skin.
No matter your skin type, you should choose from a variety of products from home made/natural products to cosmetics found in stores.
For example, if your skin is dry, you may choose cucumber juice, tomato juice, raw milk, apricot etc (home made/natural) to products sold in cosmetic shop that have some of these natural ingredients.
For oily skin, lime, lemon, are ingredients that will work on your skin. Apply a little at a time so that your skin don't get too dry because these citrus fruits strip oil from the skin.
You also have the option of products sold in the market that have salicylic acid, willow bark, apricot
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
Day 10; Wear a Shield
Make it a habit to avoid the harsh Ultra violet rays from the sun.
The sun has the tendency of damaging your skin by triggering the activities of free radicals.
Over exposure also leads to dehydration of the skin cells, giving it a dull and unhealthy look.
You will be doing your skin a great favour if you use a lotion with suncreening agent.
If you can't easily get one, let your clothings serve as a protective shield. Wear a hat or cap, a sun shade to protect your eye area. Prevent your skin from premature aging caused by UV rays.
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
DAY 11: Balance it
Today, you will need to tone your skin. After cleansing your skin, it is a good thing to use a great toner. Your skin's pH is probably altered after cleansing. This is why you should use a good toner to restore the pH. This makes your skin resistant to bacteria activities, leading to a blemish free skin.
When looking for a toner, it is better to buy one that will not only restores your skin's natural pH but will also kill bacteria and remove blemishes
YOUR SKIN CARE
ROUTINE
DAY 12; Let the steam off
Now is the time to steam your face. ooozz! This shouldn't be something you do daily. No. But it should be done occassionally.
How often you steam depends on your skin type. For oily skin, it should be frequent. For dry skin, once in a while.
Boil a few cups of water and pour inside a small bowl. Let your face be close to the steam BUT not close enough to burn your skin. Stay close to the steamy vapour for as long as the water is hot.
When done, ensure you wash your face with lukewarm water and mild soap, prefferably a moisturising soap. eg Dove.
Afterwards, IT IS IMPORTANT YOU SPLASH VERY COOL WATER ON YOUR SKIN.
Steaming opens your skin pores to allow accumulated dirt, debris from dead skin cells and left over make up products you have applied which are still left there after normal routine cleansing to come out.

DAY 13: Wear a Mask; it looks good
Including the application of facial mask to your routine would go a long way in bringing out the beautiful skin you so desire.
When you apply facial mask, it doesn't only deep cleanses your skin, it refines the pore, hydrates your skin and could reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

circular motion as you apply. Leave for a while but do not let it dry very well
on your skin before removing with wash cloth.
If you have dry
skin, it is better you go for a brand of facial mask with humectants.
If you have oily skin, buy a brand that has maybe salicylic acid.

DAY 14: For Your Eyes only
Today, get some eye cream, some serum and include their application in your routine. When you begin to age, wrinkles and fine lines show first around your eye area.
Serum will do beyond what a moisturiser can do for you. It's lighter and enriched with vitamins that will benefit your skin.
Also, there is a tendency you rarely apply creams to the skin around your eyes.
Eye creams are essential. They are formulated to be gentler on the skin around the eye area. This part of the skin is thin and very delicate.
Treat your skin by including these in your routine.

YOUR SKIN CARE
ROUTINE
Welcome to the
last week of your new routine. This week, we are knocking off some things from
our normal habits in other to achieve that flawless skin we so desire. It is
not just enough to develop good habits. We need to do away with bad ones and
embrace a healthy lifestyle. It is for our “skin’s good.”
We are knocking
off habits which may have to do with food you enjoy taking regularly,
ESPECIALLY IN EXCESS. It could be in the form of things you enjoy applying on
your skin. As we know, treating the skin is an inside out and outside in issue.
That is what you eat (inside) and apply (outside in) that gives you the healthy
and beautiful skin.
For the first half of the week, we shall be dealing with foods that make the skin 'go bad'. And for the other half, it would be majorly on what we apply on the skin.
You may know the benefits of feeding your skin with good food, yet it is impotant to know which food to eat and which one to really cut down on

DAY 15
DIARY PRODUCTS AND SUGAR:
Maybe you are in the habit of munching every and anything sweet. You have a thing for ice cream and a bottle of soft drinks.
Don't get it wrong, the issue isn't in taking these things but it shouldn't be a daily affair. Taking them shouldn't be a routine or habit. Most people who really take too much sugar do so because its their lifestyle habit.
Maybe you have heard so much about the benefits of milk and other diary products, but taking these food especially when it is in excess can affect the health of your skin.
Diary products are pro-inflammatory. They give you everything but a smooth skin. They increase your chances of having rashes, acne outbreak or other blemishes.

Any food that
increases your blood sugar level could cause your body to produce so much
insulin in other to help it absorb the high sugar. This could trigger up excess
production of the natural oil, a thickening in the skin outer layer, and
irregular shedding of the skin cells.
Cutting down on your intake of foods high in sugar can be the begining of your walk towards a great and healthy skin.

Day 16
You will do well if you cut down on your intake of caffeine. It does no good to the skin but gives a dull, dehydrated look, giving it wrinkle.

DAY 17
Today, you need to ensure those cosmetic products you lavish on your skin daily are safe. One of the things your skin cells do is to absorb things you put on it.
Maybe your soap forms so much lather
and this is the reason you can't buy any other. To you, it's just the best
brand money can buy. Plus the fact that its a popular brand name that everyone
seems to be talking about and a well known supermodel recommended it. IT
DOESN'T MATTER. If that super soap or body wash contains sodium lauryl (SLS)
sulphate or sodium laureth sulphate, it will do no good but damage your skin in
the long run.
SLS strips the skin of its natural oil in the bid to cleanse the skin. It's one ingredient put in soaps atimes by manufacturers even the so called big ones in an effort to maximize profit. It is cheap but forms lots of lather and it leaves your skin drier and on the way to being damaged everytime you use it on your skin.

DAY 18
Now is the time to go green. Gradually
begin to replace your cosmetics with safe, organic products or any choose with
the help of your beauty consultant any brand that will benefit your skin.
Avoid the habit of picking just
anything in the cosmetics store because the manufacturer promised it will
deliver good result.
Stop the habit of asking friends and
family for advice about your skin. You will benefit a lot if you turn to a professional
for help. The best your loved ones can give is advice base on their experience
with their own skin. Every skin is different.
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
DAY 19
Some bad habits will damage your skin
and these may be addiction. Excessive intake of caffeine, smoking and alcohol will
leave your skin cells in poor condition and eventually age your skin. These are
habits that promote the activities of free radicals which damages the cells in
the body.
Embrace healthy living and shun any
habit that will leave your skin in bad health.
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
Day 20
Its just could be so difficult atimes
to remember to remove your make up after a long day. But leaving make up on
through the night will leave your skin in poor condition.
This is why it is essential you
remember to use a mild make up remover (one that is alcohol free) to wipe of
that make up before going to bed.
Leave your skin clean and fresh, your
pore cleared. It will improve the condition of your skin
YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE
DAY 21
This is the last and final day.
Remember, whatsoever effort you put to get good result on your skin, you will
see the difference.
This last day is the time to review
those things you have learnt, work on new habits you have imbibed and identify
those bad habits that affect your skin health but are not listed here.
